Our Network Grows

Sapientis’ diverse network continues to grow and solidify. The goal of the network is to advocate for a high quality public education and contribute to the process of transforming the educational system.

• The network has over 1000 individuals who are the members, champions, change agents and advocates of public education in Puerto Rico.

• Sapientis offered various meetings during the year to keep champions informed about different elements that affect the educational system and to discuss ways to help improve the quality of public education.

• Members and champions of the network, individuals who are concerned about the quality of teaching in Puerto Rico and participants of Sapientis programs, participated in an advocacy training called Legislative University. The training prepared these individuals to become advocates of public education. Participants mobilized as the Coalition for Equity and Quality in Education (CECE by its Spanish acronym) in meetings with the Governor, Secretary of Education and legislators to call for the transformation of the educational system.

• Sapientis continues to coordinate meetings and initiatives to inform, educate and mobilize individuals to advocate for better quality in public education and, in so doing, contribute to guaranteeing excellence in education for our students.
